Today, an estimated 253 million people live with vision impairment around the world and 36 million of them are blind.

But you can help change this. One person at a time.

In countries like Cambodia, Nepal, Guatemala, and other developing nations around the world, there are students who struggle to see the chalkboard and read the pages of their textbooks holding them back from continuing to learn and thrive. Other people require more complex care, like surgery, but can’t be properly diagnosed and treated because of a lack of access to services, poor infrastructure, or cost.

Your donation can help someone like Dolkar

Young girl in eye exam Class of young kids with glasses

Dolkar is 16, bright and loves school. One day her glasses broke and her life changed.

Unable to read the chalkboard she could not take notes in class and often ended up staying very late at school to finish copying the notes from the board, so that she could then do her homework.

In the Kham areas of Tibet in China, where Dolkar lives, one out of every three schoolchildren need glasses. Here, even the most basic eye care is hard to find. Dolkar would have had to take at least three days off from school just to go to the nearest eye doctor.

Through the generosity of people like you, Seva sponsored a school-based eye screening and provided new glasses to kids who needed them. Dolkar is again a successful and happy student.

Imagine all the students who never had a chance to make that long trip to town to get their eyes examined and are now able to see, giving them the opportunity to succeed in school and get a better education.

You can help hardworking students like Dolkar by making a donation today.
