Clinton Global Initiative

"What these people are doing is really important. Just think about restoring sight to a million people...a million women and girls will have their vision restored." ─ President William J. Clinton

In 2008, Seva Foundation presented the Global Sight Initiative, “So One Million Eyes Can See Again”, at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).

The goal is simple one million more eyes will see again every year by 2015.

  • Seva Foundation will help 100 hospitals scale-up capacity so that one million more additional eyes receive sight-restoring surgery each year.
  • Over 10 million people will be screened annually and treated for other eye problems, with an emphasis on serving women and girls.
  • In total, over 200 million people will have increased access to eye care services by 2015.
