In Memory of Jerry Jones
Speaking for the entire Seva family, I want to express our deep sadness and our condolences on the passing of Jerry Jones, former Chair of the Seva Board of Directors and a longtime friend and supporter of the organization. It is truly hard to put into words the impact he has made on us and on the lives of millions of people for more than three decades.
As a Seva Board member, chairperson, advisor, and donor, Jerry shared his keen love of people, his compassion, and his insight into how to build an organization and effective program partnerships. Jerry's work with Seva drew from his innate sense of justice and harmony, his business acumen, and his recognition of the importance of reflection as a tool for effectiveness.
Jerry's visionary support of the Global Sight Initiative, a collaborative project of Seva and Aravind, builds upon the highest principles expressed by his close associates Seva co-founders Ram Dass and Dr. V. This work flourishes today and is building toward restoring sight to a million people annually. In so doing, Jerry is helping to create a community of service around the world. It is a community that will sorely miss him.
