Seva invests in tried-and-true technology to be able to reach everyone, especially the most vulnerable in very remote areas. This not only increases patients’ access to care by removing certain barriers, but also helps create more sustainable, efficient systems to deliver eye care.
Seva leverages tele-ophthalmology to streamline hospital flow, multiply the efforts of in-demand eye care specialists, and to help eye care programs serve the hardest-to-reach communities around the world.
Since our early days, when we partnered with Aravind [AH-ruh-vind] and Aurolab [OR-uh-lab] in India to disrupt the eye care market by making sight-saving technology available at a fraction of the cost, we have played a leading role in exploring how new and emerging technologies can assist our work. Today, this ranges from compact, portable camera systems for remote screening of patients, without an ophthalmologist being physically present, to working once again to make the most-used medication in eye care available at a much lower cost.
