Who We Share the Information With
Service Providers: We engage third party service providers to perform functions on our behalf such as: hosting, content management, technical integration, marketing, analytics, payment processing, and customer service.
Social Media: Where you choose to interact with us through social media, your interaction with these programs typically allows the third party to collect some information about you through cookies they place on your device and other tracking mechanisms. In some cases, the third party may recognize you through its cookies even when you do not interact with their application. Data Aggregation: We may combine information from our Services together and with other information we obtain from our business records or from third party sources. For example, Seva Foundation will buy lists of like-minded organizations from a trustworthy third party. To maintain our costs, we on occasion will exchange our mailing list with other like-minded organizations, through the same reputable third party. Email addresses are never shared or sold. Seva Foundation supporters may opt out of having their names or mailing addresses shared by sending an email with the subject "Do not share" to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additional Information About our Data Collection and Sharing Practices
Personal Data Collected From You About Others: If you elect to use our "Tell-A-Friend" or "eCard" referral services to inform a friend about our website, you will be giving us your friend's name and email address. Seva Foundation will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting them to visit our website. Seva Foundation will only use your friend's name and email address for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. Please do not provide email addresses or any other contact details for children under 16. We will inform any third party you invite that you gave us his or her details in the invitation e-mail.
Required by Law: We may use or disclose information about you if required to do so by law or on the good-faith believe that such sharing is necessary to (a) conform to applicable law or comply with legal process served on us or our Services; (b) protect and defend our rights or property, our Services, or our users; or (c) act to protect the personal safety of our employees and agents, other users of our Services, or members of the public.
Transfer of Data: If you use our Services outside of the United States, you understand that we may collect, process, and store your personal information in the United States and other countries. All information provided to Seva Foundation is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our website that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of Seva Foundation. Correcting or Updating Your Information: Upon request, Seva Foundation will make good-faith efforts to provide users with any personally identifying information about them that Seva Foundation gathers and maintains and to correct this information if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at the user’s request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. We ask individual users to identify themselves and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed before processing such requests. We may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes) or for which access is not otherwise required.
